Many a time I've looked up and seen her standing there not too happy at how long we had been. 🤣<br />You had to put your clothes in iron things, whereas the other baths I visited, Broadfield road and Withington had cubicles around the pool.<br />Happy days. My family used to live in Clayburn St, ...Hi Andrew. My family used to live in Clayburn St, Hulme, we used the baths on a regular basis. Learned to swim there as others did obtained my length certificate and then the three free passes. Then as I got older and too big for the tin bath that was put in front of the fire I attended the bath house. Great memories and big part of my early life for me and my family. Every Sunday morning my uncle would go with my Dad, sister and I for a swim. my uncle at that time only having one leg as he lost it in a conveyor belt down Bradford Pit but didn't stop him swimming. Once we could swim 25 yards and got a certificate to prove ot, we got a free pass to the baths. I used to walk here from home in Hulme Street.
