A good day to share our history

The sun was shining on what was predicted to be the hottest day of the month and 60 people packed into the library to get a bit of our collective past.

The event was part of the celebrations for the reopening of Chorlton Library which has been refurbished and restored.

Now l won't go into details about what the place looks like, you can discover that by coming down and taking in the transformation.

And that was what 60 or so did to hear the story of the Library and of Chorlton as it morphed from a small rural community into a suburb of Manchester.

To which Peter Topping added a song especially written about the Library accompanied by some of his paintings.

So a good day.

With a thank you to Beverly and Sally from the Library.
