Now here is bit of our recent past which is so far from the experience of most people as to be from another century.
These are the TV listings from May 1964 courtesy of my old friend Graham who has a wealth of archive material.
And they are a constant reminder that there are stories in almost everything.
In the May of 1964 there were still just two television channels. Broadcasts on a Sunday began at 10 am and closed at just after 11. 35 in the evening and programming still recognised the religious side of that day.
That said there is much here that is familiar, from the afternoon film to the number of shows from the USA.
But were still a more diverse country and the Regional Variations highlight the number of different commercial TV stations some of which like Granada which originally served the whole of the North straddling the Pennines were as important as what came out of London.
