The Friends of the Second City Crossing

Now I think everyone should take a trip on the Second City Crossing.

I did it twice on the same day, but we won’t go into that rather nerdy behaviour.

Sadly on the day I chose to travel, the day was dismal the light appalling and the ever present and persistent rain fall made taking pictures a disaster.

Happily Andy Robertson chose a better day and the rest as they say is a fine collection of Exchange Square on a middling March day.

Changing Manchester .......... nu 2 working on the Second City Crossing

Now in the digital collection of Manchester Libraries there is a set of photographs dating from the early 20th century showing tram lines being laid around St Mary’s Gate.

And following on from those historic records here is one Andy Robertson took during the weekend of work on the Second City Crossing close by.

All of which is a nice bit of continuity.
