Eltham in the Making ......... from Roman Times until 1939

Now here is a fascinating book on Eltham which I am sure is still available.

It was produced by the Eltham Society in 1990 and covers pretty much all you might want to know about our history from the Romans till 1939.*

The Eltham Society was founded in 1965 and its watchwords are “Preserving the Past, Conserving the Present, Protecting the Future.”**

That said I only got round to joining last year which is a pity because I missed a lot.  It has a quarterly magazine and is active on a range of issues to do with Eltham.***
