How it’s done in Italy…… today from la Repubblica

So, with the ongoing debate  about how to react to the spread of Covid, in Italy ….

Taken from la Repbulica today.

Until the government decides to enact new restrictive measures to contain rising infections, there are few but fundamental rules to follow. Here they are

Always carry the mask with you and wear it whenever you  come into contact with people who are not in your bubble, both outdoors and indoors ……….. which means,

You must wear it when you go out and always have it up if you walk on the street or in any other place frequented by other people. although there are exceptions if you walk outdoors in isolated places, or when running or jogging.

Children under six years old, the disabled or for other people with pathologies incompatible with the use of the mask there is no obligation to wear the protective device, in all other cases yes.

Otherwise if a child over the age of 6 goes to a playground in the park, he must wear a mask unless he is in a completely isolated place, with no other presence, where the child is alone with his parents. or other people living together.

And the sanctions ….The decree provides for penalties ranging from 400 to 1000 euros depending on the seriousness of the behavior. Any public official can stop the citizen caught violating his obligations and get a fine. The prefecture will then send the report of the dispute to the home with the relative amount.

Is it allowed to invite friends or family members to the house?

Yes, there are no restrictions at the moment. There is only the recommendation to limit the number of people, so that you can keep your distance, and to wear a mask except when you are at the table as you do in public places, in restaurants or bars.

Is it allowed to have private parties?

Yes, there are no restrictions at the moment other than those already in force on the obligation of spacing and wearing the mask always except when sitting at a table. On occasions of wedding parties or other ceremonies, buffets are prohibited and people can only remove their masks when they are seated at the table.

Is dancing allowed?

No, the ban on dancing in any public place remains, from discos to ballrooms, beaches and squares. In private homes at the moment there is a strong recommendation not to implement any different behavior.

Should I always wear a mask in the office and in the workplace?

Basically yes. In any case, the protocols on safety in the workplace that have been signed with the companies to guarantee distancing remain in force.

Shops, gyms, restaurants, museums, cinemas, theaters. Have the rules changed?

No. The obligation to wear the mask, to sanitize the hands and to keep the distance remains everywhere. The entrances are limited according to the square footage of the places. In gyms the two meters distance must be respected and the mask can be removed only while doing the activity, in restaurants and bars the mask always except when sitting at the table while in cinemas and theaters the distancing and therefore the limited capacity of 200 people indoors and 1000 outdoors.

Does the obligation to wear a mask always also apply to children at school?

No, in schools, children over the age of six and teenagers must wear the mask only in common areas and when they are on the move, but not in the classroom while they are at the desk when the distance of one meter is respected in the classrooms. However, they must follow the instructions given to them by the teachers.

When should you stay in isolation?

There may be various circumstances in which isolation is required. First of all, if the temperature is equal to or above 37.5 it is mandatory to stay at home and follow the instructions of your GP. If the swab is requested, it is necessary to remain in isolation pending its execution and its outcome. If it is positive, the mandatory quarantine is triggered until a double negative swab gives proof of healing.

Is it possible to travel freely?

Yes, movements within the national territory are allowed without limitations. Italy provides for a buffer obligation for those returning from France, Spain, Malta, Croatia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium and the Czech Republic.

You can arrive already with a certificate of negativity with a swab carried out within 72 hours or take the rapid test in airports that are equipped or undergo a molecular swab in the following 48 hours.

On the Farnesina website, the list of other non-Schengen countries from which one can arrive, however, is subjected to a mandatory 14-day quarantine and another list of countries from which entry is prohibited except (naturally with mandatory quarantine) in cases of necessity, health, work or family reunification.
