Now there was a time when Beech Road was not full of small quirky little shops selling all manner of interesting hand crafted objects nestling beside bars and restaurants.
Nor do I mean that time when you could buy fresh fruit, meat and fish along with waxed string and paraffin.
There will be plenty who remember that older Beech Road which sadly has gone with the advance of supermarkets and online shopping.
No I mean that time in between when a fair few of the shops were closing but there was a great uncertainty as to what would replace them.
So the arrival of Primavera followed by the Lead opened up possibilities, and in one of the closed up businesses came the garden shop which sold plants, pots and much more.
It was one of the first and marked the transition to what we know today.
And here as a reminder of the Beech Road of that shop taken I guess around 2002.
