Now Salford like most places ins littered with lost pubs.
Many have been closed for a decade or more and sit empty and forlorn while a few are only marked by a hole in the or a brand new block of flats, leaving just a few memories of happy times before last orders were called.
And that brings me to the Red Lion which Andy says closed about 2006 and thinks was offering up pints by 1845 and was originally called the Egerton Arms.
One of us I know will go off looking for the historical detail and may confirm Andy’s other thoughts that it was briefly used as a place for growing things.
We shall see.

It became a factory after closure, but not of legitimate goods.
