One to do today ....... the book launch of nothing to do in chorlton .... at the Lloyd Hotel at 1pm

 That prolific and entertaining team of Simpson and Topping invite you to the launch of their new book which offers up a journey of 400 years of Chorlton’s past.

Along the way there will be stories of the last woman to do penance in St Clements Church, the great burial scandal, and the Chorlton man who campaigned against the Slave Trade and was persecuted for his views on the French Revolution.

It will be the usual mix of light humour, some serious history and more than a few surprises.

One of which will be from local author Stephen Smythe who will be reading some of his short fiction.

And for those who want the series stuff, this is the twelfth book the team have published and the fourth in that very popular series “nothing to do in chorlton”.
