Ghost signs from afar

Now when Ron sends me a ghost sign it is always worth an investigation This one was he tells me “from my last holiday.  Corner of Emerald Sreet and Milton Street., Saltburn, Cleveland. Any use?”

And of course all Ron’s pictures are very useful.

In this case the sign was for Keith’s Sports, much faded but still readable and with the bonus of what looks like a telephone number.

Stand at the corner of Emerald Street and you get a fine view of the sea which might explain how the sign has faded over time, but the puzzle is that on a recent picture there is a sign for Keith’s on the green painted iron work.
