Now Andy tells me that the Friends of the Woden Street Bridge have yet to formalise their interest with a constitution an elected set of officers and a place to meet other than St George’s Island.
And already there are those muttering that given the name of the bridge, meetings should be on Woden Street.
Of course in the way these things work there will either be a compromise reached with the meetings at alternative venues or I fear a split with the rival body calling itself the Friends of the Woden Bridge, St George’s Island Branch.
Either way Andy continues to mark the progress of the new development with a fresh set of pictures taken today which in time will become a valuable and unique addition to his collection of images on changing Manchester and Salford.
I just hope that we can lose the graffiti by then, after all Tom Mille’s name ads nothing to the bridge.
