Coming soon ….. the antidote to doing nothing in Chorlton

To celebrate our new book “Nothing to do in Chorlton” which will be in the shops later this month, Peter Topping and I plan one of those popular and much loved history walks, where we walk our past, aimed at showing you just how much history you can do in Chorlton.

The Narnia Lamp post 2018

Along with a sideways look at the Meadows and Chorltonville we will take in two historic pubs, the old village green and the Narnia Lamp post.

Andrew & Peter doing nothing 2021

All of which feature in the new book, predicated on that simple Italian idea that it is sweet to do nothing, and instead sit on a bench and take in all of Chorlton's history, from a burial scandal to  the great Chorlton Church schism and the man who stole the village green.

Amongst which will also be the Highland visitation and a lost watercourse.

Location; Chorlton
