Now I never have been over keen on those postcards which present a number of views all on one card.
But I rather like Derrick A Lea’s card.
He was a artist who drew pictures of the area in the 50s. and like J. Montgomery Mr Lea is a bit of a mystery.
I know a little about him including where he lived in Chorlton and that some of his pictures were turned into greetings cards and that is about it.
This card is a compilation of some of his work and is dated 1957.

ReplyDeleteEspecially like the Horse and Jockey drawing - it epitomises the 1950s type of advertising, which always seemed to be drawn, rather than photographs.
ReplyDeleteWish I could buy these!
