Now I just wonder if anyone at Tuck and Son ever owned up to
their mistake at calling Salford Manchester?
Given that they were an international postcard company with
offices around the world and churning out
scenes from New York to Paris I doubt
it.
Nor I suspect did David who sent the card to Miss Baldwin
back in 1905.
But then there is no reason he should as he like her lived
in Wellingborough which is a long way from Salford.
Tuck continued to maintain the mistake with a series of
pictures of Salford landmarks which went under the title of Manchester.
