This is another of those grimy pictures.
And as far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with that.
Anyone making their way along the Rochdale Canal from Castlefield and on towards the Dale Street Basin will have a lot to see.
There are new developments springing into the sky promising “exciting inner city living”, along with tall office blocks and bars to be seen in.
But once, even after the canal had been saved, travelling its length could be more difficult and unless you revelled in derelict scenes quite it was depressing.
Now I rather liked this phase in its history and so here is another of the pictures showing the half sunken remains of a vessel belonging to the old Rochdale Canal Company.
And that is that.
