Spot the tall structure …… with Andy Robertson looking out from Knott Mill

Once and it was not that long ago, the tallest building at Knott Mill was the old Congregational Chapel which snuggles up to the railway viaduct, a few yards opposite the railway station.

It was built in 1858 and its slender tower rose majestically into the sky.

But now as Andy’s picture shows it is fast being eclipsed by new build and equally slender cranes.

Location; Knott Mill

  1. I remember it as Artingstall & Hind Auctioneers Saleroom. Spent many hours in there waiting to bid on things I couldn't afford, but got lucky now and then.
