Tasting the past ......... the 1930s

Now I am a great fan of Lois Elsden's food blogs.

Like me she has acquired over the years a fine collection of old recipe books, and while I don't like marrows these two from her blog today, STUFFED VEGETABLE MARROW AND DEVILISH POTATOES,  fascinated me.

Both come from  a guide to good cooking published in the 1930s.

The image opposite comes from one of my favourites, but that is for another time.
