On Beech Road 40 years ago looking for a second hand telly and electric fire

This is another of those images of the more recent past and one that plenty of people will remember.

    Oh yes, I remember this shop - it was like an Aladdin's cave. I would spend ages and a child looking in the window, and thinking that when I grew up I would go in and buy something.

    I remember that shop as I delivered their evening newspaper as a paper boy.
