I suppose if were being strictly accurate, the Four are really just 3½.
Andy captured all Four yesterday on a stroll down Bolton Road adding they are, “the Wagon & Horses, the ex Dog & Partridge, the Wellington, and the Red Lion.
Only a small road and another building separate three of the pubs.
The Wagon and the Wellington are 1970s pubs replacing older pubs of the same name.
If you love Holts Bitter then this is not a bad place to live!”
Look carefully, and there are still signs of the Dog and Partridge’s of its former existence.
Location; Bolton Road
Pictures; The Salford Four, 2020, from the collection of Andy Robertson
