A short series on the lost pubs of Manchester in pictures, but given the number that we have lost in the last few decades, it may well turn into a long one.
At which point I am not attempting to eclipse that fine site, Pubs of Manchester, Past and Present, which chronicles those that have disappeared.*
But I couldn’t miss an opportunity when Andy sent over a series of then and now former pubs which he has photographed in his travels.
This is the Gardeners Arms which has already featured in the blog ....... just two pictures and a set of memories for those who remember them.**
Location; Rusholme
Pictures; The Gardeners Arms, L. Price, m49622, courtesy of Manchester Libraries, Information and Archives, Manchester City Council, http://images.manchester.gov.uk/index.php?session=pass
and the The Gardners Arms, 2020, from the collection of Andy Robertson
