In the summer of 1975, walking around Chorlton .......... number 4

This is an occasional series featuring the photographs of Tony Walker.

I only got to know Tony just a few years before he died but we struck up a friendship based on our shared love of history, photography and the odd things of life.

In the summer of 1975 Tony went out with his camera and recorded what he saw.

The corner of Beech Road was the home of Whittaker’s for over a century and has in the last decade gone through a number of different uses.

Picture; from the collection of Tony Walker
