Cannon Court down by the Cathedral is one of those places which stick in peoples’ imagination.
It is a place I first stumbled across fairly soon after coming to Manchester in 1969.
Not content on staying around the student areas I wandered all over the city when great chunks of it retained their old character which in the case of the area around Thomas Street and the wholesale markets is a polite word for run down.
And sometime in 1969 I visited the Cathedral and took Cannon Court for granted.
I doubt I even clocked it had a name.
Location; Manchester
