A collector’s confession ...... labels from LavAzza

Now if some people can collect tram numbers and others first edition books from the pen of famous authors, I see nothing wrong in admitting to collecting coffee labels.

That said the collection will always be limited.

They have to be from the brand of LavAzzi and come from Rosa’s cupboard in Varese.

She in turn will have bought them from her local branch of the supermarket chain Esselunga.

All of which means the collection is a small one.

But that doesn’t matter because like all collections it is about the connection you have with an item.

I have no objection to those who go online to hunt down a particular item, which in many cases is the only way to locate and acquire a collector’s piece.

But in my case with my coffee labels it is about being with Rosa when they are bought, opening the packet before loading it into the coffee machine and drinking it.

So that just leaves me with sharing two of the labels.

Sad perhaps but there it is ...... a little bit of our other home here in Manchester, defying Brexit and everything else.

Location; Varese
